At a time when many brothers and sisters are leaving the Church, supporters like you can help reverse that trend, keeping more of our children deeply committed to our faith as they attend Mass every day and see how every subject they study has a link to the Incarnation of Jesus.
We receive no funding from the state or local government and are independent of any church resources.
We're on our own. This school is completely supported by parents and donors who have created a new, spirit-filled environment where young people are flourishing.
Our Model
Chesterton Academy of Divine Mercy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit which means all donations are tax deductible. We aim to keep tuition low to allow as many families as possible to attend. For instance, for the 2023-24 school year, tuition is 30% less than the cost of other private or parochial schools on the Northshore.
But that means we must raise necessary funds to close the gap and cover the operating budget during our early years.
Our Need
Money raised to close the gap helps cover the faculty and staff salaries, equipment and supplies, and other operating expenses.
We are blessed to have students and families who are reaping the benefit of small class sizes, participation in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass on a daily basis, and the leadership of faithful faculty who are helping form intentional disciples for Christ.
We have been blessed by many supporters who believe in the importance of a school like this - who want to invest in something that produces real, lasting, tangible results - namely young people who know Christ, love the Church, and radiate the genius and beauty of our tradition. Our Priorities
RETAINING FAITHFUL FACULTY & Leadership
The lion's share of our budget is allocated to headmaster and faculty salaries. In order to attract and retain quality, faithful adult witnesses, we must make a competitive offering.
2. affordability
Affordability is integral to the Chesterton Academy model so that families of all sizes and all backgrounds have an opportunity for a strong, faith-based education. In the early years while our enrollment is limited to 2-3 grades, there is a gap between tuition and the per-pupil cost.
3. facilities
Thanks be to God, a location was provided early in 2023 on the campus of Faith Presbyterian Church. We are raising funds to help cover the costs associated with leasing and insuring the facility, outfitting the classrooms with desks and white boards for the first year, and paying for transportation to daily mass.
